Ascend Aesthetica was founded on both personal experience and professional expertise—an evolution shaped by years of clinical exposure, industry research, and firsthand insight into the realities of medical aesthetics.
Like many, I once believed that prestigious credentials and outward markers of excellence—things like an impressive medical school, years in practice, or carefully curated online reputations—equated to surgical skill. But after experiencing a botched plastic surgery procedure firsthand, I quickly learned how much the industry lacks transparency. Patients are often left to navigate medical aesthetics blindly—faced with biased recommendations, dismissive providers, and an overwhelming amount of misinformation. My personal journey led me to research surgical techniques, analyze patient outcomes, and develop an expert-level understanding of the intricacies of aesthetic procedures.
However, my expertise extends beyond personal experience. I am a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Laser Technician (CLT), and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Studies graduate, currently completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to become a Registered Nurse (RN). My work in plastic surgery clinics and hands-on training in medical aesthetics have given me a comprehensive understanding of the industry—from procedural safety and surgical outcomes to patient advocacy and advanced laser treatments. Through extensive research, education, and clinical exposure, I’ve developed a deep knowledge of the nuances of medical aesthetics, from selecting the right providers to understanding the techniques that lead to superior, lasting results.
One of the most frustrating realities I’ve encountered is how often providers impose their own aesthetic preferences onto patients rather than working collaboratively to achieve what the patient truly wants. I’ve sat in consultations where surgeons dismissed my vision, pushing a more “natural” look simply because they preferred it, not because my request was unsafe or unrealistic. Others refused to consider certain refinements, not because they were impossible, but because they didn’t align with their personal standards of beauty—or because they didn’t want to take accountability for the poor results they had originally delivered. In my own experience, I was met with gaslighting instead of solutions, told that my concerns weren’t valid, and even advised to “stop taking selfies” rather than having my complications acknowledged.
This lack of patient-centered care is something I’ve seen disproportionately affect the LGBTQ+ community. I’ve witnessed trans and non-binary individuals being dismissed outright, denied access to procedures that could be life-changing, or forced to seek dangerous, underground alternatives because reputable providers refused to work with them. I’ve heard friends and clients recount their experiences of being told their aesthetic goals were “too extreme” or “unrealistic,” when in reality, they simply didn’t fit a provider’s narrow, outdated ideals. Medical aesthetics should never be about fitting into someone else’s beauty standard—it should be about enhancing each individual’s vision in a way that is safe, ethical, and empowering.
Too often, patients are misled by marketing tactics, biased recommendations, or providers who prioritize their own ideals over client goals. I created Ascend Aesthetica to bridge the gap—offering expert guidance in medical aesthetics that prioritizes safety, transparency, and personalized results. Whether through plastic surgery consulting or laser and skin treatments, my mission is to empower clients with the knowledge and expertise they need to achieve their aesthetic goals without compromise.
At Ascend Aesthetica, beauty is personal, transformation is intentional, and excellence is non-negotiable.
